About the Event

Biker brothers and Sisters, if you are in the Virginia, Maryland area, this ride is for you! The Road Eagle LLC is organizing a charity ride to support Men's Health on Saturday November 6 2021. November, aka MOVEMBER, is Men's health awareness month. The ride will start in Dumfries VA, we will pick up riders along the way in Fredericksburg, and just south of Richmond, and then will run 46 miles on Route 5 towards Jamestown Settlement. There is a small $10 registration fee at the event. Alternatively, all prospective riders can donate online to the Movember foundation via the fundraiser page we created. If you donate online, no donation will be asked for at registration. All participants who ride with us on the 6th will receive a ROAD EAGLE rider patch! More info on our charity ride page https://movember.com/m/14559609?mc=1.

For ride specifics, please message me directly or email elcapitan@theroadeagle.com! Ride will begin at 1000 from I-295 and State Route 5 intersection, I will set up a departure point from Dumfries VA, and we will meet any other riders down in I-295 and SR 5. Plan is to have lunch around Jamestown/Colonial Williamsburg and conclude the ride there.

Why? Because we care about our fellow men. This is our way of showing that we really do. Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and we want to help them get there. Help us stop men dying too young. This problem affects Military Service members disproportionately. Having served 30+ years in the US Navy, I have watched too many of our young men prematurely taken from us. Let's do something meaningful to support this cause. I'm all for raising awareness by doing pushups, but awareness is only a part of the solution. Knowing is half the battle, the real change will come from all of us working together to take concrete actions to help. Help means more mental health counselors, more practical assistance in clinics, counseling, advocacy and support, all of which cost money. Please, give. It's the best way for us to all make a difference.
